Excellent Space Station Flyover This Evening

Clear to partly cloudy skies will set the stage for a nearly perfect International Space Station Flyover (ISS) early this evening.  Look first, in the southwest sky at 6:41, moving northeast.  I will be almost overhead at 6:43, then into the northwest sky, as it begins to fade out at  at 6:44. traveling at 17, 500 mph, roughly 250 miles above us (It fades out when it loses visible sunlight, shortly after passing overhead). Remember there are 6 human beings on board.  It makes one complete revolution of the earth every 92 minutes.  That’s 16 sunrises and 16 sunsets a day!

The Space Station can be seen with your naked eye.  It looks like a bright point of light.  Tonight’ flyover will be particularly bright.  If you’ve never seen it, it does not get old.  It’s always a thrill!  It’s been awile since I’ve been able to tell you about one of these perfect overhead flyovers.  Bad weather has prevented us from seeing them recently.
See the map below for more information.

TONIGHT’S WEATHER:  Clear to partly cloudy and much cooler.  Overnight low 34.  Winds die down.

CHILLY WEEKEND:  Highs will only be in the low to mid 50’s Friday through Monday.  Lows at night will be in the lower 30’s Saturday, Sunday and Monday morning.  I’ll take a closer look at the weekend and look ahead to next week on our next video tomorrow morning at 5.  Have a good evening.  I’ll see you in the morning.   -Rich
