UPGRADED: Moderate Risk – Significant Tornado Threat Monday – Another Risk Wednesday

Just a brief update from the morning video.  There has been an upgrade in the danger level for tomorrow.  A strong upper level storm system will bring a threat of severe storms to central Alabama on Monday.    The threats include damaging straight line winds and tornadoes.

The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded tomorrow’s severe risk to Moderate across much of central and south Alabama, especially near and south of the I-85 / US 80 Corridor.  A significant tornado risk exists.   In the moderate risk area, Strong Tornadoes are Possible.

The time line is from about 5AM in the west to 2PM in the far southeast.  This is a very serious situation.  Please be weather aware and be ready to take action quickly tomorrow.   the time line on this graphic has been updated.

 

Another significant severe weather threat is ahead of us on Wednesday.  Please refer to this morning’s video on this developing threat.  Could be a significant tornado situation again.
