Good morning! The Heat Index will soar well past close to the danger range. And, although cooling showers will be few and far between, I’ll tell you about increasing rain chances late in the week. If you are making weekend plans, we’ll zero on the forecast for here and the Gulf Coast Beaches. In tropics, Chris is getting stronger off the east coast. And, it looks like Beryl is about to make a comeback.
The big story today will be the heat. Excessive heat index. Storms will be widely scattered.
Highs in the mid 90’s will continue with triple digit heat index. Rain chances will be back to 40% coverage, right on through the weekend.

In the Tropics we are still monitoring powerful hurricane Chris and the remnants of Beryl.
Besides Chris, NHC says Beryl has at least a 50% chance of regeneration now.
Chris now has winds of 105 mph, accelerating rapidly to the northeast, well off the US coastline.
