FRIDAY Update: Scattered showers & Storms Return – Front Approaches – Invest 95-L in the Tropics

Good morning!   Some of you were lucky enough to get a brief downpour from those random storms.  Today, I think the scattered storms will be a little more numerous.  In fact, the chances get a little better on Saturday as a weak front moves through the state.  It will continue very warm for October for the next few days, even behind the weekend front.

TODAY:  Very warm again, a little more humid.  High 84.  Spotty, random, scattered showers and a few thunderstorms possible this afternoon, this evening and tonight. Low tonight 67.

Here’s a future radar snapshot at 5:00PM.  It shows random scattered showers and thunderstorms in central and south Alabama.  You can see a more concentrated line of storms along the front near the Mississippi River.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   The risk for showers and storms are a little higher, with the front moving through the state Saturday.  I think Sunday and Monday should still be dry and warm.  I’ll introduce small rain chances again on Tuesday Wednesday.

IMPORTANT FRONT LATE NEXT WEEK:  Potent frontal system late next week has my attention.  Could there be some strong/severe storms with this front?  Much cooler air will follow for Halloween weekend.  We have time to watch this.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK:   Invest 95-L is an interesting new feature to watch, coming out of the west Caribbean.  NHC says this developing tropical low could go northwest into the Gulf, or toward the Florida Straights, or toward the Bahamas.  There are any question marks, because Invest 95-L is brand new. The models are not quite sure what to do with it yet.

Meanwhile,  Hurricane Epsilon continues to head to the north Atlantic.

I’ll have another Blog Update in the morning.  You can hear my forecast every hour across the dial on the 8 Bluewater Broadcasting radio stations.  Have a great day. I’m doing OK.  Just constantly fatigued.  Not really any other symptoms, right now. No fever.  Following Doctor’s orders.   Again, thanks so much for bearing with me.  Thank you for your many, many kind messages.  Best COVID therapy of all – is this baby, on my lap. Vitamin CHASE.
