MONDAY UPDATE: March Starts Wetter and Cooler

Welcome to March!  This is one of those weird days when the warmest temperatures happened in the middle of the night.  Lower 70’s at 3AM.  But, a cool front is slipping southward, accompanied by a band of showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will fall during the day, as the front heads toward the coast.  Then, waves of low pressure will bring additional rounds of rain tonight, and more Tuesday and Tuesday night.

Tuesday will be chilly, but we’ll be back in the 60’s later in the week as the sun returns to our skies.  What a change this week, after highs in the lower 80’s over the weekend.  Yesterday’s high of 83 tied the record from 1948.

TODAY:  Warm this morning.  Showers and thunderstorms through early afternoon.  Windy behind the front. North wind gusting to 20-30 mph, Temperatures in the 60’s.  Another band of rain moves in tonight, especially late tonight.  Colder…Low 47.

Cool Front moves through this morning, and south to the coast by lunchtime.

TUESDAY & TUESDAY NIGHT:  Chilly.  Periods of rain as waves of low pressure move along the front near the coast.  Highs in the 50’s.  Mid 40’s Tuesday night.  Could be a soaker. Here’s expected rainfall.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   The rain ends by 7AM Wednesday.  We warm up a little Wednesday…low 60’s.  (Normal 65)  Thursday is a nice day upper 60’s.  Friday and Saturday mid 60’s.  I have us dry so far on Friday and Saturday, but a weak front will drift through the area.

Model blend next 10 days.  Chilly Tuesday.  No freezing temperatures expected.  Late week warming.  We won’t be back to the 70’s until maybe late next week.

STILL IN ST. AUGUSTINE ONE MORE DAY:  Yesterday I was a tourist, in historic downtown St. Augustine.

The gates of the old city, dating back to 1565. Historic George street.

Once the Flagler Hotel …this is now Flagler college,

The Old Senator. This tree is 600 years old.

Magnolia street is one of the most photographed street in America.

Tourist in the morning.  Beach bum in the afternoon.

.

I hope you have a nice day. Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a travel day for me.  I’ll have you another Blog update before I hit the road.
