Saturday UPDATE: Routine July Weekend – Hot, Humid, Random PM Storms – Tropics are Quiet

Good Morning!  Our weather pattern is easing into a more typical July pattern for this weekend.  There will still be random PM storms, but there won’t be as many storms roaming around as we saw in the week that just passed.  I think the big story this weekend is heat and humidity.  The heat index will be close to triple digits today and Sunday.  Showers & storms will be a little more numerous by Monday.

I’m happy to report….I don’t see anything that worries me in the next few days.  No “big ticket” weather.  No impending problems in the tropics.  This makes Rich happy.  There is no reason to type a lot of words to type today.

TODAY:   Considerable cloudiness with some sunny intervals.  Hot & humid.  High 93.  Dewpoints in the low to mid 70’s will produce a heat index near 100 this afternoon.  Random scattered thunderstorms.  Widely separated.   Most towns stay dry.  Low tonight 73.  Tomorrow will be almost identical.

Here’s a Future Radar example from one if the hi-res models.  Notice the somewhat sparce storm coverage.  Typical July day.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Showers & storms become a little more numerous by Monday.  Otherwise, random PM storms will continue.  Highs in the lower 90’s.  Lows in the lower 70’s.

BEACH OUTLOOK:  The chance of encountering a shower or storm is a little higher down on the coast this weekend, but not overwhelming. Yellow flags are flying.  Moderate Rip Current Risk through the weekend.  Be careful.  Gulf water temperature is 83.

TROPICS:  I’m thrilled to say, we are not watching any suspicious areas in the tropics.  NONE.  Not only that, it appears we’re going to be quiet for the next few days at least.  This makes me happy.

.

I’ll have another Blog update tomorrow morning.  Enjoy your weekend!
