SUNDAY UPDATE: Small AM Shower Risk – Cloudy & Cool Today – Nice Week Ahead – Warmer Days Soon

Good Morning!   A low pressure storm system, moving through the northern Gulf of Mexico, will brush by the area this morning.  Early this morning, radar shows showers in west and southwest Alabama.  I’ll mention a small chance of a few light showers, mainly through Noon. The rain will not amount to much. Some towns will stay bone-dry.  Clouds will keep us cool today, but sunshine will make a comeback on Monday..

The week ahead looks pretty good. The week starts off cool on Monday. But, hang on. We are in for a very nice warming trend as November ends and December begins.  We’ll be in the 70’s by mid and late week.  Except for a small rain chance Friday night, the weather looks tranquil and storm-free for several days

TODAY:   Cloudy through mid-day. Small risk of morning showers. By about lunchtime this risk will fizzle out. I’m not too optimistic about sunshine this afternoon. A cool day today.  High in the upper 50’s, held down by clouds.  Skies will clear later tonight. Rather chilly again today.  We’ll fall to the mid 30’s by dawn Monday.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Looks like a nice series of days in the week ahead. Monday will be quite cool, but sunshine returns.  But, a warming trend begins on Tuesday.  We’ll be 70 or above Wednesday through Friday, as the new month of December begins.  I have a small risk of showers in the forecast Friday night as a disturbance brushes by the area.

Here’s the Model blend through the next 10 days. Look at that nice string of 70+ degree days Wednesday through Saturday. That will be a treat. Coldest mornings will be Monday and Tuesday.

Today’s update was very short, and that means the news is pretty good. No “Big Ticket” weather in the next few days. I’ll have a complete video in the morning. It will be online by 4:45 AM.  Enjoy your Sunday!
