SUNDAY UPDATE:  Nice Pattern Continues  – Severe Weather Risk By Wednesday Night

Good Morning!  It is a very chilly Sunday morning for so late in the season.  Some towns will be near 40 by sunrise.  Parts of north Alabama are under a frost advisory.

Today will be nice.  Not as windy.  A little warmer.  Low to mid 70’s.  Chilly again tonight.  Jacket weather.  But, our temperatures area about to turn around.  We’ll be near 80 Monday, and well into the 80’s Tuesday and Wednesday.

    Saturday’s high was 71. Morning low 47.   (Normal high 75…low 48)

Our storm-free pattern continues beyond the weekend.  In fact, we have a major warming trend ahead of us.  We should be dry through Wednesday afternoon

We’re still  keeping tabs on yet another concerning storm system, which will bring another severe weather threat to the state by Wednesday evening and through the overnight hours. More on that below.

TODAY:  More sunshine.  Nice day.  Chilly start.  High 73.  Not as windy.  Northwest wind 6 to 12 mph.  Mostly clear and chilly tonight.  Jacket weather.  Low 46.

MONDAY:  Warming trend begins.  Sunshine.  High near 80.  Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.  Not as chilly Monday night.  Milder.  Low 55.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT STORM SYSTEM:  Another potent, robust Spring Storm system will bring severe weather threat to the plains on Tuesday and spreading across the lower Mississippi valley Wednesday and into Alabama Wednesday night/Thursday morning.

SPC has outlooked much of the Plains states Tuesday, with an increasing threat eastward across the Gulf states on Wednesday.  The greatest threat of severe weather in Alabama will be Wednesday night.  All modes of severe weather are on the table, including tornadoes. Unfortunately, SPC has added an Enhanced (30%) risk over the western counties of the state,   At the moment, my concern about the severity of this situation is in the “moderate” range. We’ll know tomorrow as we get closer to this event.  ‘Tis the season.

POLEN COUNT:  The pollen count continues in the high range today, and medium high through Wednesday.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Much warmer Monday and Tuesday.  Lots of sun.  Near 80 Monday.  Mid 80’s Tuesday & Wednesday.  Showers and locally severe storms Wednesday night and into Thursday.  Risk pf more showers by Friday night into Saturday.

.

Have a nice Sunday!  I’ll have a complete video in the morning, online by 4:45 AM.
