SATURDAY UPDATE:  Big Heat, Big Storms – Not As Hot On Sunday  

Good Morning!  Heat Advisory Day 5. Today is the final day.  Yesterday was the hottest day of the week so far, with 99° and a Heat index of 108 in Montgomery.  Today’s expected high will be at least 96, with a heat index of at least 107.  Sunday will be not nearly as hot. 

    Big Heat produces Big Storms.  We have a Marginal Severe Risk.  Storms will be scattered to numerous today and tonight.  Damaging wind gusts are the main threat. 

TODAY:  Heat Advisory continues in effect.   Today’s high mid to upper 90’s.  Heat index 105 to 110. Scattered to numerus showers & thunderstorms , especially in the afternoon & evening hours. Some storms could be strong with damaging wind gusts.  Very humid tonight.   Low tonight 75.. 

Marginal Severe Weather Risk today.  Damaging wind gusts are the main threat.

A southward moving front will enhance the storm risk.  The front will reach south Alabama tomorrow morning.  Not as hot Sunday.

The bigger storms could arrive late, as the front moves southward. Here’s a Future radar snapshot at 5PM.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Not as hot.  Scattered to numerous storms Sunday.  Scattered storms Monday through Thursday.  Highs mostly near 90.

BEACH FORECAST:  No surprise.  Scattered thunderstorms today.  Storms will become much more numerous Sunday & Monday.  Gulf water temp is 86.
