WEDNESDAY Update:  Up & Down Rain Chance – Dangerous Heat Indices – Heat Advisory

Good Morning!  Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

TODAY:    Heat Advisory in effect. Sun/cloud mix.  High near 97.  Heat index as high as 106.   Widely Scattered random showers & thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon & evening.    Steamy tonight.   Low tonight 77.

Future Radar suggests that today, storms will be few and far between.  Widely Scattered.

The dangerous heatwave gripping the American Heartland is spreading eastward.  Now, much of Alabama is included in a Heat Advisory.

SEVERE RISK THURSDAY:  Big Heat – Big Storms. The Storm Prediction Center has much of central Alabama in a Severe Risk tomorrow.

Damaging wind gusts in the main threat.  Scattered to numerous storms are a good bet tomorrow.

.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Thursday will be extremely hot.  Heat index as high as 108.  Some strong/severe storms area a good bet. The higher than normal rain chance continues Friday.     Over the weekend, the number of storms will thin out quite a bit.   High in the mid 90’s.   Low at night mid 70’s.

Crazy numbers on the heat index Thursday here in Alabama.  But, look at Mississippi!   Wow.

BEACH FORECAST:   Rain chances will be highest on Friday.  But the weekend looks routine.  Scattered hit or miss storms.  Moderate Rip Current risk.  Gulf water temperature 86

TROPICAL OUTLOOK :    The tropics continue quiet for now.  We know that will change  The peak of the season is in August and September
