FRIDAY Update: Widely Scattered Storms – Hot & Steamy Weekend Ahead

Good Morning!  Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

CLIMATE DATA:    Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 93, with a Heat Index as high as 101. Morning low 72.  Normal High/Low 94 and 72.  Rainfall:  0.01.  Sunrise at 6:04 AM.

TODAY:   Hot & Humid, again. Today’s High near 95. Heat index 100+. Not as many storms today.   Widely Scattered but random showers & thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon & evening.  Storms fade out overnight    Low tonight 74.

A Couple of  Future Radar examples shows that any Showers and storms today will be widely scattered.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Rain chances return to a more routine summertime normal Saturday.  Hot & steamy weekend.  Highs mostly in the middle 90’s.  Triple digit heat indices.  Lows at night in the low to mid 70’s.  Rain coverage is a little higher again on Sunday and Monday.   More scattered storms Tuesday and Wednesday.

Another upper level “Heat Dome” spells a very hot & steamy weekend.

BEACH FORECAST:  Scattered to numerous storms especially Saturday & Sunday.  High in the upper 80’s.  Gulf water temperature 88.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK :    The tropics are STILL very quiet for now.

And once again — except for one Invest off in the Pacific near central America, there are NO tropical cyclones anywhere in the world . Spooky….

The NOAA updated hurricane forecast came out yesterday.  It still calls for a very active season.  Keep in mind, in a typical year, 75% of the activity occurs between August 15 to October 15th
