MONDAY Update:  Stuck in a Pattern – Very Wet Week Ahead

Good Morning!  Here’s my brief video forecast discussion from the National Weather Association conference in Pittsburgh.  .     

 
CLIMATE DATA:   Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 87, morning low 71.  Normal hi/lo is 93 and 71.  The airport had 1.52” just yesterday.  In the last 36 hours the Airport has had 2.05”.  (My storm total in East Montgomery for the last 36 hours is 1.73”.  You could have had a lot more rain at your house)

TODAY:  Our elevated rain chance continues  again today.  Mostly cloudy.  Scattered to numerous showers & storms, just about anytime, but especially in the afternoon & evening. Locally heavy downpours.  High 84.     Low tonight 72.   

Here’s a Future Radar examples this afternoon, and into the evening hours.  Radar will be quite active today.   The storms will be random again, but quite numerous.  Just like the weekend. 

Very wet times ahead across the South this week.

NEXT FEW DAYS:      Scattered to numerous showers and storms will continue at least through Thursday. Storms perhaps slightly less numerous by Friday & Saturday.    High temperatures will be held by clouds and showers.  Highs mainly  in the low to mid to Upper 80’s through Thursday.   Lows at night in the low 70’s.  Little day to day change.  

Potentially wet times across the Gulf South next few days.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK:  NHC is still monitoring that Area to Watch in the tropical Atlantic.  They have a 20% chance this system will develop into a Tropical Cyclone in the next 5 days.

The rest of the Atlantic Basin is still quiet.
