SATURDAY UPDATE:  Wet at Times over The Labor Day Weekend

Good Morning!  It’s back to summertime business as usual.  Your Labor Day Weekend will not be a washout, but each day, random showers and storms will be in rather generous supply.  Just be flexible with your outdoor plans.  Have a Plan B.  You may have to dodge raindrops from time to time.  Our Weather App will be very helpful.  You’ll be able to track where the storms are now, and where they are going to be over the next few hours.  High temperatures will be cut down, just a bit, due to clouds and showers.  Upper 80’s, mostly.  Storms will start to “thin out” in number Tuesday through Thursday. I have updated the rain chance for the next several days, below, in this Blog Update.

Otherwise, the forecast is fairly routine.  We don’t have any tropical concerns in this part of the world at the moment.  But, the Atlantic Basin is rather active, as you will see below.

CLIMATE DATA:
Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 90. Morning low 73.  Normal High/Low 92 and 70.  Rainfall at the Airport:  TRACE.  Sunrise at 6:23 AM.   Sunset 7:06 PM.

TODAY: Limited sunshine.   High near 88. Scattered to numerous random showers and storms will be most common in the afternoon & evening hours.  Low tonight 73.

Juicy airmass will remain in place through the holiday weekend. Primed for scattered to numerous storms. Radar will be much more active today.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Random showers and storms will be quite numerous each day through Labor Day Monday.  Storms will tend to “thin out in number” Tuesday through Thursday.  Not as many storms.   Daytime highs mostly in the 80’s.  Lows in the low 70’s.

TROPICS: Danielle became the first Hurricane of the season yesterday. It has weakened to a Tropical Storm this morning in the far north Atlantic.  In the Tropical Atlantic, Tropical Storm Earl formed yesterday.  It is expected to curve into the open Atlantic and not affect North America.  The rest of the Atlantic basin is quiet for now.

BEACH FORECAST:  Scattered to numerous storms.  The coast will be rather wet at times through the Labor Day holiday weekend. Elevated rain chance.  Scattered to numerous storms.  Highs in the 80’s.   Gulf water temperature at a season high of 88.  Moderate rip current risk from Destin to Panama City.

.

I’ll have another Blog update in the morning.  Have a nice Holiday weekend!
