WEDNESDAY Update: Near Record Warmth – Wet Weather Will Be Returning

Good Morning!  It will continue summer-like today.  Hot & humid.  We tied a Record High of 88 yesterday.  Today’s Record High of 91 is probably safe, but we’ll certainly be in the neighborhood.  Meanwhile, and approaching front will bring the risk of showers and storms by Thursday afternoon/night.  And, it will be wet at times Friday, Saturday and perhaps a couple of leftover showers on Easter Sunday. It won’t be a washout, but be prepared to have a plan “B”.  The weekend will be rather cool with highs in the 60’s.  At the moment, there is no severe weather in our future.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

CLIMATE DATA:  We tied a Record High yesterday with 88°.  (Ties 88 in 1934) Morning low 66.   (Normal: 76/50)

TODAY:   Another very warm day.  High in the upper 80’s. (Record: 91 from 1988)   Partial sunshine.  South wind at 5 to 10 mph.  Partly cloudy and mild tonight.  Low 65.

There will be another Severe Weather Outbreak today, including tornadoes from the Great Lakes to the mid-south.

The Severe threat reaches into northwest Alabama by late tonight.

Meanwhile, more Record Highs are likely today from Louisiana, Alabama and Florida northward to Ohio.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to return Thursday.  As the front stalls near the Gulf Coast, waves of  low pressure will move along the front.  Much cooler over the weekend.  Highs only in the 60’s

Here’s the expected rainfall through Sunday.

Easter will be cool, compared to normal.  Upper 60’s.  Small chance of scattered showers.

BEACH FORECAST:   Not good at all.  Wet at times, especially Friday night through Saturday.  Not only that.  High rip current risk.  Not a good weekend to go to the coast.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.  Watch us on TV on CBS 8 and ABC 32.  I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice day!
