SATURDAY UPDATE:   Colder But Not For Long – Freeze Tonight

This morning, the second of two cold fronts is sweeping through the state.  Showers will exit southeast Alabama later this morning.  Much Cooler will funnel in, on gusty northwest winds. Temperatures will fall during the day. We are headed to freezing or below by Dawn Sunday.  But, this chill will be brief.  Recovery begins Sunday afternoon and Monday. Before the next front approaches.  Also, on this Blog update, we’ll look at the week ahead.  Looks like we’ll be dealing with another “Big Deal” storm system by the end of the week, again.

TODAY:   At Dawn, the leading edge of the second cold front had not quite reached Montgomery.  But, it will sweep through quickly, and be clear of the state by Noon.  When the front passes, it will be rather windy at times.  Temperatures will be in the 50’s for much of the day, but will fall to the 40’s by late day.  Northwest winds of 15 to 25 MPH, gusting to 30 will add a bite to the air. Sunshine will dominate the afternoon.  Here’s a look at the maps at 6AM and Noon, as the front moves quickly toward the coast.

TONIGHT:  It be breezy early.  Clear and Cold tonight.  Most of us will reach the freeze mark or lower by Dawn Sunday.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Nice day Sunday.  Great afternoon recovery in the upper 50’s.  We’ll be in the 60’s Monday…a great start to the week.  Next cool front delivers a small rain chance Monday night into Tuesday morning, then much cooler mid-week, again.

NEXT BIG TICKET STORM SYSTEM:  Déjà vu.  We’ll be dealing with another Big Deal Storm system in the Friday/Friday Night/Saturday time frame.  It’s early to make a pronouncement, but this could be a severe weather risk situation.  Like this last system, rainfall could be excessive in some parts of our state.  This storm system will be followed by yet another big, but brief Temperature Plunge.

EVERY DAY IS A GIFT..and yesterday was a Good Bailey Day. This picture speaks volumes.  I’m hopeful every single day.  Thanks for asking about my dog Bailey.  Our future may be short, but we’ll enjoy everyday together.

Have a nice weekend!   I’ll have another Blog Update in the morning.
