Good morning! A southward moving frontal system will bring widely scattered storms today. Behind the front look for a welcome change just in the for the 4th of July weekend. . It’s generally a dry forecast Thursday through at least Saturday. Isolated PM storms return to the forecast Sunday and scattered storms Monday. Days will be getting hotter. Highs will be in the middle 90’s by Friday and Saturday. Meanwhile, NHC is monitoring that Area to Watch in the eastern Gulf into the Atlantic. Here’s my Video Forecast Discussion.

FUTURE RADAR: Not nearly as many storms on the radar today, and mainly along and south of that front.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The front moving through the state today will deliver somewhat drier air. It’s generally a dry forecast Thursday through at least Saturday. Expect mid 90’s on the 4th of July and Saturday. Isolated storms return Sunday and scattered storms Monday.

10 Day Model Blend Temperature trend shows some very hot days ahead.

BEACH FORECAST: Pretty routine weekend forecast. Spotty scattered storms. Highs near 90. Gulf water 87. Mostly moderate rip current risk.

TROPICAL: NHC now says there’s a 40% chance of Tropical Development over the next few days from the Eastern Gulf, across Florida and into the Atlantic. There will be a stalled front. A sub-tropical or tropical depression could form late week or this weekend.

The EURO models shows a decent probability of development with this system off the SE coast in the Atlantic. The next available name is Chantal.

Meanwhile, the news is not good for Holiday Weekend vacationers in Florida. Sad.
