TUESDAY Update:  More Random PM Storms – Hotter Days Ahead

Good morning!  Once again today, radar will get quite a work out.  It will start out dry this morning, but once again today afternoon and evening showers and storms will become rather numerous. There will be Tropical downpours in spots. Locally heavy rainfall amounts.  By the end of this week the number of PM storms will start to thin out a bit.  But, extreme heat will start to build.  Dangerous Heat Indices are in our future.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY: Sun/cloud mix.  Scattered to numerous showers and storms most likely in the afternoon and evening hours.  Hot and humid.  High near 91. Low tonight 72.

FUTURE RADAR:   Once again today, showers and storms will be most likely in the late afternoon and into the evening hours.  Storms will start to thin out at night. Hi-res future radar looks impressive today.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Gradually, the number of afternoon and evening storms will start to thin out a bit.  Not as many storms on the radar.  But, get ready.  We are going to start to heat up by late week and into the weekend as upper level high pressure builds. Storms will not be as numerous.  But,  Triple Digit Heat indices the danger range will become common.

A building massive upper high will be responsible for fewer PM storms and Dangerous Heat Indices by the weekend.

10 Day temperature trend.  Stand by.  Big summer heat is not too many days away.

SUMMER SOLSTICE FRIDAY:  We are about 3 days away from  the official first day of summer, Friday June 20th at 9:42 pm CDT.  Today’s daylight is 14 hours 16 minutes and 21 seconds.  Friday will be 15 seconds longer,  Longest day of the year.

TROPICAL UPDATE:    NHC says the Atlantic Basin is quiet for the next 7 days, and very likely for much of the rest of June.
