WEDNESDAY Update:  Random Scattered PM Storms

Good morning!  It’s a pretty routine June forecast for now. A stalled front in central Alabama will be the focus for the PM storms today, especially in the southern half of the state. Random Showers and storms will be most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours today and Thursday.  There will be a big increase in the number of storms Friday through Sunday as tropical moisture invades the area. Numerous showers and storms especially in the afternoon and evening.  Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

TODAY: Foggy in spots early. Sun/Cloud mix.  High 90.  Random, scattered showers and storms most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours.  Low tonight 70.  Storm risk fades overnight.

Although no signs of fog here at the station at 5:45 AM.

FUTURE RADAR:   The best chance of those random PM showers and storms will be across the southern half of the state today.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Not much day to day change for now.  Random Showers and storms will be most numerous in the afternoon and evening hours Thursday.  There will be a big increase in the number of storms Friday through Sunday as tropical moisture invades the area. Numerous showers and storms especially in the afternoon and evening.  

Over the weekend tropical moisture will invade the state.  We’ll be between and Upper Low to the west, and a upper high to the east.  Numerous showers and storms especially in the afternoon and evening for the Father’s Day weekend.  

Wet times will continue.  Storms will be random, but numerous especially this weekend.

10 day temperature trend. After mid month, expect a string of hotter days with triple digit heat indices.

BEACH FORECAST:  Be flexible.  Numerous showers and storms especially in the afternoon and evening for the Father’s Day weekend.  Gulf water temperature 84.  High rip current risk.

TROPICAL UPDATE:    NHC says the Atlantic Basin is quiet for the next 7 days.
