Updated Storm Prediction Center shows a Level 1 Marginal Severe Risk for many of us this afternoon & this evening. Damaging Wind gusts are the main risk. In the Level 2 area in SE Alabama, a couple of tornadoes are possible. A Tornado Watch continues in effect until 5:00PM. #alwx

Good morning! Rain and storms drenched much of Alabama during the night. Be flexible with your Mother’s Day outdoor plans because it will be wet and stormy at times through Monday. It won’t rain all the time. There will be several dry hours. But, rainfall amounts could be significant in spots. Sunday, we’ll be tracking a northward moving warm front. There is also a Level 1 Marginal Severe Risk on Sunday. Risk of damaging wind gusts. The rain risk will remain in the forecast through Tuesday, before dry and hotter weather begins mid-week. Stay weather aware. Happy Mother’s Day Weekend to all the Mom’s out there.
TODAY: Periods of showers and storm today and tonight. There will be several dry hours, too. High 75. East wind 10-15 gusting to 30 mph. Low tonight 64.
A parade of storm systems will keep us wet at times through Monday and possibly Tuesday.

SPC has a Level 1 Marginal Severe Risk for Sunday and Sunday night. Damaging wind gusts are the main threat.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Rain probabilities will remain particularly high through Monday. But, even Tuesday there will be a lingering threat scattered of showers and storms. Highs in the 70’s through Monday. Warmer mid-week with highs in the middle 80’s. Dry weather will return, finally.
