Good Morning! We could use some rain. A stalled front across the northern counties will remain in place today through about Thursday before dissipating. That will keep the risk of spotty showers and storms across the area for the next few days. The better rain chances will probably be today and tomorrow, most prominent in the afternoon and evening hours. Meanwhile, it’s a very warm pattern, with somewhat higher humidity. Highs in the 80’s. Dewpoint in the 60’s. We’ll be closer to 90 Friday through Sunday. Almost summerlike in April. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
TODAY: Continued quite warm. Mostly cloudy. High 83. Light wind, Scattered showers and storms will be around, in spots, today & tonight.. Very mild tonight. Low 63.

A couple of Future radar snapshots. Not every town will get wet, but showers and storms will populate the screen, particularly in the afternoon & evening hours.

No significant Severe Weather Threat, but we note a Marginal Risk across parts of west Alabama.

NEXT FEW DAYS: The stalled front across the north will help the rain chance across the state, as ripples of low pressure slide eastward along the frontal boundary. Scattered showers and storms will be a little more prominent through Wednesday. Some widely scattered storms ae possible Wednesday through Saturday. It’ll be a very warm week. In fact, we could perhaps even tease 90 Friday through Sunday. Sunday looks dry and mostly sunny. No severe weather is expected.

Here’s the expected rainfall this week. Not much for much of central and south Alabama. The better concentration will be in the northern counties, closer to the stalled front.

Here’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend. It continues to be a very warm pattern.
