Good Morning! A southward moving front will be responsible for the risk of showers, and maybe the rumble of thunder, especially this morning. But, there is still a risk of a leftover shower or two this afternoon. The weather news for the week ahead is very good, indeed. Storm-free & dry. Abundant sunshine. Comfortably warm each day. It looks like the next risk of showers & storms would hold off until next weekend – probably Sunday. Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.
CLIMATE: Yesterday’s High was 80, after a morning low of 43. (Normal 74/48)
TODAY: The risk of showers & storms will linger mostly this morning. Although, there could still be a leftover shower or two this afternoon. High 75. SW becoming NW this afternoon wind 6 to 12 mph. Partly cloudy tonight. Low 48.
FUTURE RADAR: The most concentrated round of showers and storms will continue through this morning hours. But, there could be some leftover showers this afternoon especially in south Alabama.
Marginal Severe risk today across the extreme southern counties.

NEXT FEW DAYS: Expect a spectacular week of weather. March can be a very turbulent month. Not this week. Storm-free & dry. Abundant sunshine. Comfortably warm each day. Highs will be 80 or above each day through Saturday. Lows at night will range from the upper 40’s to the 50’s. (Normal 74/48) Right now, it looks like the next batch of showers and storms will arrive next weekend. Arriving probably Saturday night or Sunday. See below for the updated Sunday severe risk from SPC,

A new wrinkle we do not like to see from the Storm Prediction Center, especially 6 days out. They have issued a Level 2 out of 5 (15%) Severe Threat including a damaging wind threat and tornado risk. We’ll know more and more about the details and timing as we get closer to this event. ‘Tis the season.

Here’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend. I do not see any signs of a late season cold snap in this forecast.

POLLEN: Very little day to day change. No relief in sight.
