Good Morning!  As expected, we had soaking rain overnight.  Most of the rain will move out early.  Expect a cloudy, breezy day with falling temperatures. We’ll be in the lower 40’s by sunset.  It’ll be quite cold tonight.  The Low will fall into the upper 20’s, as clouds clear late. Wednesday will be a mostly sunny, but a very chilly day, with highs in the low 50’s. (Normal 66/40)  The Wednesday will be a mostly sunny very chilly day with highs in the low 50’s. (Normal 66/40) The Risk of rain returns Thursday.  Rain becomes likely late Thursday night and Friday could be a soaker.  Leftover showers may linger into Saturday, too. Some of the models are advertising significant rainfall totals especially for the southern half of our state.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:   Risk of a shower early.   Cloudy.  Falling temperatures to around 43 by 5pm.  Northwest wind 5 to 15 gusting to 20 mph.

TONGHT:   Mostly cloudy, then clearing later.  Low 28.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Wednesday will be a mostly sunny very chilly day with highs in the low 50’s. (Normal 66/40)  Risk of rain returns Thursday.  Rain becomes likely late Thursday night and Friday.  Leftover showers could linger into Saturday, too.  Wednesday will be the coldest morning in the upper 20’s.  Highs Wednesday through Friday will be disappointing.  Raw.   Friday we may not make it out of the 40’s with that cold rain.

Here’s the set-up for the Friday storm system.

Here’s the anticipated rainfall through Saturday.   The GFS model shows potential excessive rain totals particularly for the southern half of the state.

Herse’s the 10 day model blend temperature trend.  Chilly most of the time.

But, I like the 16 day EURO temperature guidance.  Starting around the 12th of December, temperatures may be a little more reasonable.
