Good Morning! Today will likely be the hottest day of the year so far. Will it be a record? I think we’ll be close. Storm system arrives in the state Friday afternoon/evening. Storm Prediction Center has added much of our area in a severe risk. I’ll have the latest on the storm threat that could affect a lot of Friday night plans. Also, an update on the Mother’s Day weekend forecast, and wait to see the projected temperatures next week! Here’s your Wednesday morning personal weather briefing.
Upper level heat “bubble” will set the stage for what should be our hottest day of the year so far. We’ll be in record territory. (93 in 2015) Low 90’s will be common across the southeast. Even some mid 90’s in Florida.
Storm Prediction Center has now put much of central and part of south Alabama in a Marginal Severe Risk for Friday evening. The main threat will be damaging wind gusts.
Here’s a Future Radar snapshot from 7PM FRIDAY EVENING.
But, by Saturday morning the front departs, leading to a great Mother’s Day weekend.
The models are advertising some possible intense heat by the middle of next week.
