Good morning! This will be a brief update. I had to make a couple of changes in the forecast. Most notable, I had to bump up the Sunday afternoon/evening rain chances.
TODAY: Mainly sunny, mixed with some clouds. Hotter. More humid. High near 90. Rain chances not zero, but I really think most of us will be dry.
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy. Low near 70. Again, if you have outdoor plans..like the Jazz Fest in Alex City or Biscuits Baseball, I think the chances on a isolated shower would only be about 10%.
NEXT FEW DAYS: I took the Sunday afternoon rain chance to about 40% here in central Alabama and a little higher down at the Beach. I also increased the Monday rain chance to about 60%.
THE WEEK AHEAD: The global models agree. Showers and thunderstorms will be roaming around every day this week, through Friday and, in fact through the following week. That doesn’t mean any day will be a wash out. The nature of summertime storms are fairly random, and feast or famine on the rain amounts. There will be decent coverage each day. Pinning down rain amounts are extremely difficult in the summer. But the GFS and Euro agree, many of us could see 2-3” in the next 7 days. Locally much higher amounts in heavier storms. Due to the abundant moisture available, and slow moving storms, some could see flooding rainfall amounts, locally.
Just saying…. We will to monitor the Gulf of Mexico closely over the next 9-12 days. ‘Tis the season. More on that in the coming days.
Have a nice weekend!
