SATURDAY UPDATE: Warmer Days – Showers Tonight/Sunday

Not a bad forecast for the first day of Spring.  Today will be the best day.  Warmer.  Dry.  Nice.  And, there’s a decent chance that many of us will get a good view of a particularly good Space Station Flyover tonight.  Clouds are the question mark.  We are looking at the next “big deal” storm system late this week.  Could it bring strong to severe storms?

TODAY:  A sun/cloud mix.  Partly sunny.  Warmer.  High near 80.  Interesting clipper storm system, which will bring a band of snow to several states, will pass harmlessly to the north of us.  Increasing clouds tonight.  Very mild…low 64.  Best chance of scattered showers after midnight.  More about out viewing prospects for the Space Station below.

Future Radar shows the spotty nature of the showers.  The evening should be dry tonight.  the best rain chances begin after Midnight.  Then, scattered showers at times Sunday and Sunday night.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Scattered showers Sunday, but the best rain chances are Sunday night into Monday.  Sharply cooler Monday, but this cool spell won’t last long. So far, the weather looks good for the Max Capital City Classic at Riverwalk Park on Tuesday evening.  Thursday storm system will bring showers & storms.

LATE WEEK STORM SYSTEM:  A  fairly potent storm system, and frontal system will affect the state Thursday, Thursday night into Friday morning.  It’s a little too early to say, but I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the storms could be strong to severe.  ‘Tis the season when most storm systems are suspect. We will continue to monitor as we get closer.

SPACE STATION FLYOVER TONIGHT:  There will be a simply excellent Space Station Fly over tonight. The slight will be almost overhead, from the SW to the NE from 7:53 to 7:56.  Very bright.  Will clouds hide our view?  Maybe.  But not necessarily.  A snapshot of projected clouds on the NAM model, suggest that many of us have a chance to see the flyover.  Good luck.  It’s certainly worth your time.

Potential cloud cover near flyover time.   IFFY for some, but many may get a great vew.

I hope you enjoy what should be a pretty nice first Saturday in Spring today.  I will have another blog update for you first thing in the morning.
