Watching the Tropics – Searching for Raindrops – Record Heat Today – FRIDAY Video

Happy Friday the 13th!  The tropics are active to say the least.  The future of the Bahamas tropical system in the Bahamas will have a big influence on Florida and the Southeastern US.  The  unfortunate reality for Alabama…the extreme heat continues, and  our wait for precious raindrops goes on.  What could change this scenario?  When will that strong upper high back down?  I have an update on our rainfall potential through mid week.  And, we’ll check out the rest of the tropics.  Get ready for another Record High today.

The record High for today is 97.  You can kiss that baby goodbye.  We’re headed for 100 again with that big upper level heart wave high still in control.

New CONE on Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine from NHC…  System expected to become a Depression or Tropical Storm today.  Expected to have an interaction with the Florida coast over the weekend, and then slowly make a turn to the northeast early next week.

That system which will be approaching the Islands over the weekend could have future implications for the United States 10 days down the line, roughly.

Very interesting GFS snapshot in about 10 days showing a Tropical Storm or Hurricane near south Florida.  Then, does it head for the Gulf, or curve along the southeast US coastline?

BIG changes in the pattern during the last week of this month which will allow cooler air into Alabama, finally.
