Good Morning! When is it going to cool down? When is going to rain again? These questions are on the mind of all Alabamians as we start this new week. The official start of Fall is a week from today. But, the intense heat rolls on for now. We may get a ‘slight’ break in the intense heat by late week. But, what about rain? We’ll scan the distant horizon and see what’s out there. And, I have the latest from the tropics, including an update on Hurricane Humberto.
We are stuck over a strong and stubborn upper high which is NOT budging a but. Just HOT and dry.
The seven day rainfall outlook for Alabama from NCEP in Washington is just depressing.
At least by late week and the weekend, the highs back off to 90-92 and lows at night in the 60’s by Friday & Saturday AM. That’s the only good news.
Humberto is an 85 mph Hurricane now, north of the Bahamas, moving out to sea. It could tease Bermuda by Thursday.
The Area to Watch in the western Gulf will bring heavy rain to Texas. Invest 97-L could eventually become Imelda, BUT, model tracks show it curving into the Atlantic.
