Good morning! A Cold Front is marching through Alabama this morning and this afternoon. The front is moving faster than expected, and will exit the state by late afternoon. Looks like a wet morning & afternoon for many. I have future radar below. The front will bring an end to the warm temperatures we have been enjoying. Montgomery had 79° yesterday, but Sunday’s high will only be in the upper 50’s. We’ll fall to the 30’s Sunday night. The next storm system could have an impact on holiday travel by Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Here’s the frontal progress today, as the Cold Front moves through quickly.
TODAY: Near 100% chance of showers this morning into early afternoon. Can’t rule out the rumble of thunder. It will turn windy and cooler behind the front. Temperatures in the 60’s in the morning will fall to the 50’s this afternoon. Behind the front, expect west wind at 15 to 20+ and gusty. Breezy and much cooler tonight. Low 41.
Future Radar will give you a general idea on the progress of the rain ahead of the front today. Don’t take Future Radar laterally. It’s just for general guidance.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Sunday will be a much cooler day. Highs in the upper 50’s, with a breeze, but sunshine returns. Mid 60’s return Monday. Another storm system will bring showers and maybe some thunderstorms back to the state Tuesday night into mid-day Wednesday. That could have an impact on holiday travel.
THANKSGIVING: Right now, it looks like we’ll be between disturbances. So, I’ll say Mostly Cloudy and mild. I have the rain chance around 10%. Morning low 52. High 68.
FOOTBALL WEATHER: Because the front is moving faster, that’s good news for the Bama game. Rain should be long gone by gametime. It’ll be windy with falling temperatures. Auburn will be wet, especially in the first half. Rain chance will diminish second half with falling temperatures and becoming windy. Both games start at 11.
I’ll have another blog update first thing in the morning. Have a nice weekend!
