Week of Excessive Rainfall – Potential Flooding Concerns – MONDAY VIDEO

Good Morning!  Get ready for a very wet week.  A series of storm systems will effect the state from today into Thursday.  The axis of the heaviest rain will stretch right through central Alabama.  Rainfall totals are likely to be excessive.  Flooding may become a concern again this week.  Will there be any severe weather?  When can we expect the heaviest rain?  I’ll break down the details.  And, we’ll look ahead to the return of the sun just in time for the weekend.

Round one of the rain and storms moves through the state today and tonight.  Look for round after round in the week ahead.

Wet at times, with locally heavy rainfall most of the week through mid-day Thursday.  The sun is out again Friday.  Nice weekend ahead.

NEW from the Storm Prediction Center…they have now added a Severe Weather Risk Wednesday across South Alabama.  The strongest risk will be in the coastal counties.  Damaging wind gusts is the main threat.  A tornado can not be ruled out.

Expected rainfall totals could easily total 4-5″ and locally 6″ in a strip across central Alabama.  Flooding will be a concern.
