MEMORIAL DAY Update: Nice Holiday Weather – Showers Return Mid/Late Week

Good Morning!  Again I say…We hit the jackpot on the Memorial Day Weekend weather.  It has been sparkling.  And, the news is great again on this holiday, today.  Highs in the 80’s and low humidity. A great day to grill out, or maybe a trip to the Lake.

June begins on a dry note tomorrow.  But, weather changes are ahead.  Showers and thunderstorms to the forecast by mid to late week, and probably next weekend, too.   Along  with the returning showers,  summer-like humidity will be increasing.  Welcome to reality.

TODAY:  Very nice again. Sunshine will dominate.  Warmer today, but low humidity.  High 88.  Clear, not as cool tonight.  Low 64.  Great day for grilling out, or maybe a trip to the lake.

While our weather remains NICE, many spots in the nation have had an awful Holiday weekend.  Especially in the Northeast and the Mid Atlantic states where it has been cold and wet and windy.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  June begins on a warm note tomorrow.  It’s the first day of “Meteorological Summer”.  Not too humid.  Chance of showers and thunderstorms returns by Wednesday evening, with a better chance Thursday and Friday, and also over the upcoming weekend.  The humidity will increase, too.

Projected rainfall through 7AM Sunday will be heaviest across the northwest half of Alabama.  Not as much in southeast Alabama.

CLIMATE DATA:  Yesterday was sparkling.  Morning low 56.  Afternoon high 81.  We will end the month of May with a rain total pf 2.45”. (that’s 1.30” below normal for the month)   For the year, we now have a rainfall deficit of 2.02”

HURRICANE SEASON STARTS TUESDAY:    Hurricane season starts tomorrow and runs through November 30th.  The tropics are as quiet as a mouse right now.  Is your name on this list?   We already had Ana in May.  Bill is the next name up.

Enjoy this beautiful Memorial Day weather.  REMEMBER: Freedom is not free.

We’ll get back to a regular full video tomorrow morning.  Have a nice day!
