Saturday UPDATE: Scattered Random Storms – Triple Digit Heat Index Will Return

Good Morning!  Friday was a fairly tolerable August day.  We had a little breeze and the humidity was not awful.  Today will be fairly routine.  Just  notch higher on the temperature& humidity and few more “hit or miss” storms on the radar than yesterday.

The trend will be for some hotter days ahead.  Sunday through Wednesday, highs will be closer to the mid 90’s.  Unfortunately, the Heat Index will be near 100 Sunday, and we will be at least close to the 105 danger range Monday through Wednesday.  Some towns will get lucky.  There will be some scattered random storms each day.  The coverage on the storms will be fairly routine for August.

TODAY:   There will be a good bit of sunshine mixed with clouds.  The high will reach the lower 90’s.  A little more humidity today than yesterday, but not terrible.  Afternoon dewpoints 69-72.   Yesterday showers almost non-existent on radar.  Today there will be a more typical 30% coverage by afternoon.   Southwest wind at 5 to 10 mph.  Low tonight 72.

Remnants of a week front may help the afternoon rain chance a bit.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Hot and Humid days are in the cards with scattered random storms.  Highs in the mid 90’s with Heat index 100-104 most days.  Lows at night in the mid 70’s.

BEACH OUTLOOK:   Routine forecast.  Clouds mixed sun.  Scattered, random storms.  Highs in the upper 80’s   Gulf water 87°.  Yellow flags from about Destin through Panama City and beyond.  Moderate Rip Current Risk.

TROPICS:  There are now three features being tracked by the National Hurricane Center in the Tropical Atlantic.  Two Areas to Watch have a low chance of development in the next 5 days.  Invest 92-L has a medium 40% chance of development.

The EURO model Tropical Depression Probability shows a corridor as far west at the Bahamas.

I’ll have another Blog update tomorrow morning.  Stay hydrated!  Enjoy your weekend!
