Heatwave Building – Dangerous Heat Indices – Tracking the Active Tropics – THURSDAY Video

Good Morning!  Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 96, with a Heat Index of 104.  This is only the start of a string of excessively hot days, through the weekend and beyond.  There will be Radom storms everyday.  Big heat produces big storms.  Some storms will put on quite a show.  Meanwhile, the tropics are still quite active.  I have the latest on Hurricane Grace, and a storm named Henri that could have implications for the United States.

Very Hot and Humid today….again. Scattered random storms. Storms will be more numerus than yesterday.

Heat index today will at least be close to the 105 danger range.

A strong Upper High Pressure Ridge will be responsible for the excessive heat over the next several days. This ridge is also the mechanism that will protect us from Hurricane Grace.

Expect a string of very hot days, with excessive heat indices and scattered random storms each day.

No tropical trouble to worry about at the Beach this weekend. Routine August weekend forecast.

The Remnants of Fred is STILL producing tornado warnings in the middle Atlantic states this morning. Then there’s Grace and Henri

Hurricane Grace is pounding the Yucatan today and will be in the Gulf by tomorrow. Mexico will get hit twice.

An Henri could become a hurricane tomorrow. It’s possible Henri could threaten a very populated section of the Northeast US by the first of next weekend.
