SUNDAY UPDATE: Extended String of Dry Days – Getting Hotter

Good Morning!  Our extended string of sunny/dry days continues today.  The dry/storm-free pattern is likely to last for several more days.  It may be the first week of October when showers finally return to our forecast.

In the meantime, the “coolness” is starting to fade away. Yesterday’s high was 83.  We are headed for the mid 80’s today, and we will be near or above 90° Wednesday through Friday.  Nights in the 50’s are almost over.  Lows will be in the mid to upper 60’s by late week.    The humidity will be fairly low through Tuesday.  After Tuesday…HOT for September.

In the upper atmosphere, a “blocking pattern” is getting established.  That will divert storm systems away from Alabama.  We’ll be storm-free for several more days.

TODAY:   The morning “coolness” will fade quickly.  Sunshine.  Today’s high in the mid 80’s.  (Normal High 87, low 64)   Clear tonight, Low 59.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Still DRY for the next several days.  Sunshine.  Warmer everyday.  HOT by Wednesday through Friday.  Highs near 90 or above.  Humidity a bit higher.  Low at night in the mid to upper 60’s by late week.  Next weekend is probably dry, still.

It’s simply amazing to see this many dry days in a row. The total number of days without rain could stretch about 13 days, from the middle of last week, until sometime around Tuesday, October 5th. (perhaps).

TROPICAL UPDATE:  There are three Areas to Watch in the Atlantic, but by far, the star of the show, is extremely dangerous Category 4 Hurricane Sam with 145 mph winds.

Sam will remain a Major Hurricane through the next 5 days.

Down the road, Sam could be trouble for the Canadian Maritime provinces.

Chase and I have had an awesome weekend here on the Alabama Gulf Coast.  We’ll be pointing the car north later this morning.  It’s tough to leave!

The last two names left on this year’s primary list is Victor and Wanda. You can bet that we will almost certainly have to use the supplemental list.

I’ll have a complete video in the morning.  Enjoy the rest of your Weekend.
