Saturday UPDATE: Extended String of Warm / Dry Days

Good Morning!  The news is good for the next several days.  High pressure is in control.  Sunshine will dominate the weekend and probably through most of not all of next week. Should be ideal weather this week for the Alabama National Fair here in Montgomery.

This dry pattern will be a nice departure from all that wet weather last week.  The Montgomery Airport had 3.64”.  You could have had a lot more.

Temperatures will be rather warm for October, but not excessive.  (Normal high 83, low 58)  Most of the week ahead will feature highs in the mid to upper 80’s and Lows in the mid 60’s.   Humidity won’t be awful, but with dewpoints in the mid to upper 60’s, it sure won’t feel like Fall.

But, hang on, we are about a week away from some really NICE fall air.  More below.

TODAY:  Abundant sunshine.  Yesterday we had a high of 87.  We’ll be close to 86 today.  North wind at 4 to 8 mph.  Nights are too warm for October.  Low tonight 65.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Dry forecast for several days.  Most of the week ahead will feature highs in the mid to upper 80’s and Lows in the mid 60’s.   Humidity won’t be awful, but with dewpoints in the mid to upper 60’s, it sure won’t feel like Fall.

A weak front will move through the state Tuesday, but it should be a dry front on it’s arrival.  It will have little or no impact on our weather whatsoever.

COOL FRONT NEXT WEEKEND:  A “Real-Deal” cool front will sweep through the state next weekend.  It will bring a band of showers and storms to the state during the day Saturday, followed by some much nicer air, starting Saturday night through Sunday and beyond.  Highs will fall back to the 70’s.  Lows will be in the 50’s.  It’ll be a nice change, but we have to wait a week.

TROPICAL UPDATE:  Still monitoring Invest 92-L off the southeast U.S. coastline.  The window of opportunity for possible tropical development of this system is about to close.  If it doesn’t develop in the next 24 hours, it’s future will be just a regular low pressure system.  It will continue to cause squally weather along the Carolina coast. The rest of the tropics are quiet for now.

I’ll have another Blog update tomorrow morning.   Have a great SATURDAY. Sports overload.  Football and play-off baseball….plus The Fair!  Enjoy your weekend.
