Good Morning! Some towns flirted with frost Saturday this morning. THIS morning, frost will be widespread in many towns. Welcome to the coldest morning of the season so far.
There will be a remarkable recovery today. We’ll be near 70 this afternoon. We’ll be well into the 70’s every day in the week ahead.
The risk of showers & storms return late Thursday, Thursday night and Friday as the next significant Cold Front sweeps through the state. The air behind this next front is very cool indeed. Next weekend will be quite chilly. Will we see the first freeze? Too early to say. The average date of the first freeze is November 18.
TODAY: Welcome to “Standard time”. On our new reality, sunrise will be at 6:07 AM, sunset 4:49PM. Frost Advisory this morning. Coldest morning of the season so far. The morning chill will fade rather quickly. Total sunshine. Warmer. High near 70 today. North wind at 5 to 10. Clear and chilly tonight. Low 40 by dawn Monday.
On the map this morning, that BIG coastal storm continues to batter the southeast coast, with winds and waves. For us, high pressure is in control. Looks like a beautiful Sunday, after the morning frost.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Warming trend. 70’s return this week. Mid 70’s by Tuesday through Thursday. Sunny and nice much of the week. Showers, and perhaps thunderstorms, return by late Thursday and Thursday night, & Friday ahead of the next strong cold front.
NEXT COLD FRONT: The next strong cold front will sweep across the area Thursday night and early Friday. Showers and maybe some thunderstorms, will move in ahead of the front. I don’t expect severe weather. That will set the stage for much cooler air over the following weekend November 13/14.
DON’T TAKE THIS TO THE BANK. This is just Raw GFS model numbers. But, I’m just saying..the GFS takes us to freezing next Sunday morning 11/14. That’s not out of the question. Average first freeze is 11/18. Last year the first freeze was 11/30.
