SUNDAY UPDATE: First Freeze For Many This Morning – Warming Trend This Week

Good Morning!  For the vast majority of cities and towns in the area, this morning is the first freeze.  The coldest temperature will be near Dawn.  Sunrise is at 6:14.  Last year the first freeze in Montgomery was November 30th.  The Average date is November 18th. So, we are on par.

Our normal high and low is 71 and 44.  We’ll be below normal today and tomorrow, but there’s a warming trend in our future.  We’ll be back to the 70’s Tuesday through Thursday.  The next significant frontal system will drift through the state Thursday.  Risk of scattered showers with the front.  Cooler air will follow late week.

I’ll start talking to you about Thanksgiving Week on tomorrow morning’s video.  I don’t see any “big ticket” weather.

TODAY:   A.M. frost and freeze.  Abundant sunshine today.  A little warmer than Saturday.  High 62.  Clear tonight.  Low 38.

6AM UPDATE…TWEET: Montgomery officially reached freezing at 5 AM, 32°. The season’s first freeze. At 6am, It’s 32 in Montgomery and Prattville , 30 in Alex City and Selma, 31 in Greenville and Auburn. Average first freeze is November 18th. So, we’re on par #alwx

A very weak “reinforcing” cool front, passing through the area tonight, will have little or no impact on our weather.  It will bring a wind shift and a fresh supply of drier air.  Perhaps some patchy frost in a few towns Monday morning again.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Cool sunshine, mid 60’s Monday.  Warmer, in the 70’s, Tuesday through Thursday.  Risk of scattered showers with a fizzling front Thursday.  Breezy & cooler Friday.

THURSDAY FRONT:   Not a big deal, at all this time.  The front will be in the fizzing stage when it reaches us

.

Again I say….I’ll start talking to you about Thanksgiving week weather on tomorrow’s video.  Right now, nothing sticks out as important  or “big ticket”.  –More tomorrow–

I’ll have a complete video in the morning, online by 4:45 AM.  Enjoy your Sunday!  Chase and I are enjoying a nice warm fire.
