Merry Christmas! We have a remarkable Christmas weekend forecast. Last year was very cold. This year is very spring-like.
The warmth will stay in place for much of the last week of 2021. We’re dry at least through Monday. Risk of showers returns to the forecast Tuesday. Shower & thundershowers will become more likely on Wednesday and Thursday. Risk for a few strong/severe storms can’t be ruled out for Wednesday. Too early to say.
CHRISTMAS DAY FORECAST: Very Spring-like Christmas this year. Sun/cloud mix. High temperature 77. Little breezy. SW wind 5 to 15 mph. Great weather for the Camellia Bowl at Noon. Partly cloudy, mild tonight. Low 59.
A weak front will “tease” the northern Alabama border this evening. But, the front will retreat northward tomorrow as a warm-front.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Dry and warm Sunday. We may tease 80 degrees Monday. We’re dry at least through Monday. Risk of showers returns to the forecast Tuesday. Showers & thundershowers will become more likely on Wednesday and Thursday.
CHRISTMAS PAST: This is the 44th Christmas I have covered the weather for you. There’s been a wide variety of “Big Ticket” weather over the years, from cold to warm…. Snow, tornadoes & flooding. Glad this year, is quiet, beautiful and Spring-like. Christmas 2020 was very cold. Morning low 26. Daytime high 42. Wind Chill was in the 20’s much of the day.
