Cold MLK Day – Mid-Week Storm System – Sharply Colder Late Week – MONDAY Video

Good Morning!  In the wake of Sunday’s storm, cold air will dominate this MLK holiday today.  Breezy & cold. We’re headed for the deep freeze tonight.  The week ahead will feature a lot of ups and downs.  The warmest day looks like Wednesday, followed by a Wednesday night storm system. Late week looks much colder, again.  And, there are many question marks on how the late week forecast could unfold.  Could there be some winter weather issues?  The models disagree.  I’ll bring up to date on what we know.  Plus, I’ll show you trends for the rest of January.  Do you like cold air?  I don’t….

Kind of a Raw Day on this MLK holiday. Breezy & cold. Temperatures won’t make it out of the 40’s. We’re headed for the deep freeze tonight.

It was a Close Call for Alabama on this Winter Storm. Fortunately, we escaped the big snow & ice amounts that are causing miserable travel in multiple states. Here’s snow on the ground at 3AM.

Next storm system brings in more rain by Wednesday night …then much colder again late week. We’ll have to watch low pressure along that front in the Gulf. Could that cause some winter weather mischief by late Friday or Friday night. the EURO says maybe. The GFS says problems will be father east.

Chilly through Tuesday. Warmer Wednesday. Rain Wednesday night. Sharply colder late week. Question marks about Friday.

The GFS long-range says there’s lots of Winter Air that will grip the east and the southeast for most f the rest of January. Not good….

Remember the big snow storm 4 years ago today? Not a fun drive to work that day.
