TWEET: On the coldest morning of the winter so far, here’s a round up of early morning lows as of 6 AM: Montgomery 22°, Prattville and Selma 21°, Greenville 23, Auburn 22, Troy 24. Hard Freeze. #alwx
Good Morning! It’s the coldest morning of the Winter so far. Lower 20’s in most towns. Sunshine will help us reach the low 50’s this afternoon. That’s still below normal, but it’s moving in the right direction. Monday looks nice. It’ll be the mildest day we’ve seen lately.
A Gulf Storm system will “brush by” the area Monday night into Tuesday. I have lowered the rain chance, because the models are taking the Gulf Low track farther and farther south. The rest of the week looks dry.
Two Cold Fronts this week will usher in more chilly air Wednesday and Friday.
It’s a Chilly morning across the Gulf south. This map indicates how many degrees below normal.
TODAY: Coldest morning of the winter so far. Lower 20’s. Nice recovery this afternoon, but still way below normal Sunshine. High 52. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Clear and cold…upper 20’s tonight.
NEXT FEW DAYS: Mild Monday. Risk of rain Monday night and Tuesday. Colder Wednesday. Colder again Friday.
NEXT STORM SYSTEM: The models keep taking the next Gulf on a track farther and farther south. It’s looking like a lot of the rain will stay south of us. I have lowered the rain chance.
The GFS and the EURO models now keep most of the rain in the Gulf.
NEXT 10 DAYS: Nice warming Monday, but still below normal. (Normal High 60, Low 36) Shots of colder air arrive Wednesday, and again Friday. 5 of the next 10 mornings we’re in the 20’s. None of the next 10 days are expected to be above normal.

I’ll have a complete video in the morning, online by 4:45 AM. Stay warm. Have a nice Sunday!
