Good Morning! A Gulf coast storm system will bring a round of soaking rain and thunderstorms today, tonight and part of the day Wednesday. Some towns could easily see 1 to 2”. A couple of stronger storms are not of the question Wednesday. Thursday will be a nice break in between storm systems, but the storm system approaches Friday. A round of strong thunderstorms is expected. Could this be a potential severe weather threat? On this video, we’ll look ahead to the weekend as winter ends and Spring begins.

FROM SPC: Today the greatest risk of strong/severe storms would e closer to the Gulf coast. On Wednesday’s Severe Risk, parts of our state could see a few storms with large hail, due to an upper Low aloft with cold air, conducive to “hailers”.
Projected rainfall: Some towns could easily see 1 to 2”.
After the rain risk through Wednesday, Thursday should be a very nice day. Another vigorous storm system Friday with more showers and storms. So far, the weekend looks great.
