MONDAY Update: Welcome to August – Heat, Humidity, Random Storms

Good Morning!  Here’s my brief video forecast discussion.

CLIMATE DATA:    Yesterday’s high in Montgomery was 95, with a Heat Index as high as 102. Morning low 74.  Normal High/Low 94 and 72.  Rainfall: 0.0”.  Sunrise at 6:00 AM.

TODAY:   Hot & Humid, again. Today’s High near 95. Heat index 102 to 104. Scattered random showers & thunderstorms mainly in the afternoon & evening.  Not every town will get wet.    Low tonight 74.

Here’s a couple Future Radar examples.  Still “Hit or Miss”, but more storms to go around than yesterday. The HRRR model is little “underdone”.   The WRF model is a little overdone.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Rain chances get a little better Tuesday through Thursday. Scattered to numerous random afternoon & evening storms.  Rain chances return to a more routine summertime normal Friday & Saturday.  Highs in the low to mid 90’s.  Triple digit heat indices.

TROPICAL OUTLOOK :    The tropics are STILL very quiet for now.

Many factors in the Main Development Region are hindering development at the moment, including a significant amount of Sharan Dust.
