Good Morning from Montego Bay! The big storm system that brough severe weather to the Gulf South has departed. The news for the next few days is much calmer. Cooler air overspreads the area today. That’s stage one. But even colder air arrives by Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Cold Weather fans are going to love the forecast for Christmas Week. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.
LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL IN SPOTS: The Montgomery Airport officially had 2.07″. Looks like my rain gauge in East Montgomery had a whopping 2.27″. Much needed rain..
TODAY: Sunshine, breezy, cooler today. High 58. West wind 10 to 16 gusts to 20+. Clear colder tonight. Low 36.
NEXT FEW DAYS:
It will turn cooler then colder in phases. Friday will be in the 50’s, but the weekend will be much colder. Saturday and Sunday’s high will struggle to reach 50. (Normal hi/lo 62/39) We’ll be in the upper 20’s Sunday and Monday morning. Small chance of showers by Tuesday.
Attention Cold Weather Fans…you’ll love seeing the much colder temperatures over the next 10 days. In fact, check out some of the numbers as we get closer to Christmas Day. That’s some very chilly stuff!
SEVERE WEATHER DEPARTS: It was a terrible Tuesday & Wednesday across the South. Tornadoes were numerous.
There were 49 tornado reports over a two day period. Many towns area in ruin. Injures were numerous and unfortunately there were fatalities. Fortunately, there’s no more severe weather worry about in the next several days. Here’s the storm total reports from yesterday, not including the 2 dozen tornado reports Tuesday.
