SATURDAY Update: Beautiful Today – Showers Return Sunday

Good Morning!  Our weekend begins in a very beautiful way today.  Sunshine, comfortable.   Nice Day.  An approaching front brings a risk of scattered showers Sunday afternoon, but minor.  Dry, cooler Monday.  Most of next week will be quiet and routine.  But, we do have our eyes on a late week, potentially significant/dynamic storm system, which will bring showers and thunderstorms back to Alabama.  This system needs to be monitored carefully for it’s future Severe Weather potential.  ‘Tis the season.

TODAY:   A very Nice Saturday.  Sunshine, comfortable.   High 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph. Clear, cool tonight.   Low 43.  Normal 59/37.

(Yesterday High 63, low 34.)

NEXT FEW DAYS:     Monday will be cooler, but sunny.  High near 60.   Isolated showers Tuesday.  Dry Wednesday.  More showers possible Thursday ahead of the next significant storm system.

Late week significant storm system.  Risk of scattered showers begins Thursday afternoon.  Showers and storms become likely Thursday night and Friday.  This system needs to be monitored carefully for it’s future Severe Weather potential.  Stay tuned.

MORE TORNADO SURVEYS:  NWS Birmingham conducted more tornado surveys yesterday.  So far, 13 tornadoes have been surveyed, including at least 5 EF-1s and one EF-2 (Lake Jordan Tornado), and 7 EF-0’s.  That was the big tornado of the day, with a 9 mile track and 800 yards wide.  The east Montgomery tornado (Halcyon Tornado) was an EF-1, nearly 2 miles long, 130 yards wide.  Another survey is scheduled for today.  Here’s a link where you cab read DETAILED info on each tornado.
