FRIDAY Update:   Chilly Days /Cold Nights  – Rain Returns Sunday

Good Morning!  Our string of chilly days and cold nights continue.  Sunshine dominates today.  Not as breezy.  Still below normal.  We’re headed for yet another freeze tonight.  Saturday will be not quite as cool.  Actually, it will be near normal for the end of January.  Rain returns by Sunday afternoon & Sunday night.  Next week looks quite active, as a series of disturbances move through. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:    Another chilly late January day.  Mostly sunny.  High near 55.  (Normal 60/37).   Not as windy.  West wind at 6 to 12.  Another freeze tonight.   Clear and quite cold.  Low 29.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Saturday will be an OK day.  Lots of sunshine.  Not as cold.  Near normal.  Rain returns Sunday.  Next week looks rather active.  A series of disturbances will move across the Gulf South.  It will be wet at times.  A little warmer by mid-week.

The BEST chance of our next rain will be by Sunday afternoon and Sunday night.

I don’t have to say much about this map.  It looks like wet times in the week ahead.

Here’s the 10 day Temperature trend.  The BEST news I can possibly give you in the Dead of Winter is….   I do not see any ARCTIC air in the next 10 days.  That’s always good news

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.  Watch us on TV on CBS 8 and ABC 32.  I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice day!
