FRIDAY Update: Colder Air for a Couple of Days – Nice Weekend Improvement

Good Morning!  After a day and night of drenching rain, our weather will start to improve.  The weekend news looks pretty good.  Colder air will follow the rain, but nothing extreme. Today will be chilly.  We’ll start to see the sun by this afternoon.  We’re headed for a cold, sub-freezing night tonight.  We should see abundant cool sunshine tomorrow.   Fortunately, the chilly air will not stick around long.  We should back in the mid 60’s by Sunday and 70’s by Tuesday and Wednesday.  The next “big deal” storm system will affect the state next Thursday.  Perhaps a Severe Weather Situation.  Not sure yet. Next week, by the way is Severe Weather Awareness Week. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:    Risk of rain through the early morning hours before ending.  Cloudy this morning.  Gradual clearing by afternoon. It’ll be nice to see the sun.  Very chilly today.  High 53.  (Normal 62/38)   Breezy today.  North wind 10 to 15 gusting to 20 mph.  Clear and cold tonight.  Low 29.  Wind chill will be a factor.

Future Radar shows the rain departing the state today.

We’ll see sub-freezing temperatures by Dawn tomorrow, but the extreme cold will miss Alabama this time.  It will be simply brutal this weekend in the Northeast.

NEXT FEW DAYS:    Cool Saturday but at least it will be sunny.  A little milder Sunday with clouds in the morning and afternoon sun.  Nice recovery Monday & Tuesday.    In fact, we’ll be in the 70’s by Tuesday & Wednesday.  Small risk of showers Wednesday.

The Cold won’t last long.  Nice warm up by mid-week next week.   10 day temperature trend.

The Next big-deal storm system will arrive next Thursday.  Potentially severe?

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.  Watch us on TV on CBS 8 and ABC 32.  I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice Week ! We’ll see you in the parades in Millbrook & Prattville tomorrow.
