WEDNESDAY Update:  Brief Late Week Warm-up – Friday Storm System

Good Morning!   It’s a cold, frosty start this morning.  Sunshine will be abundant again, but still temperatures are running way below the seasonal normal.  We’re headed for the 30’s again tonight.  But, on Thursday, a brief but nice warming trend begins.  We’ll tack on at least 10 degrees to our high.  Expect lower 70’s on Thursday and Friday. There will be another round of showers and storms Friday as a strong cold front approaches.  A few strong/severe storms are a good bet.  Then, get ready for yet another significant Temperature Crash starting Saturday. Chilly weekend ahead. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:     FREEZE WARNING – FROST ADVISORY. Widespread frost is likely in many towns this morning.  Mostly sunny today. Still quite cool for March.  High 63.  (Normal 72/46)  Northeast  wind at 10 to 16 mph.  Clear and cold tonight.  Low 37.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Temperatures will rebound to the lower 70’s Thursday and Friday.  There will be another round of showers and storms Friday as a strong cold front approaches.  A few strong/severe storms are a good bet.  Then, get ready for yet another Temperature Crash starting Saturday.  We could tease the freeze mark AGAIN by Sunday morning.  Very chilly for March on Sunday and Monday.

The Next storm system will be a massive coast to coast system, with winter weather for some and a severe weather threat Thursday from Texas to the lower Mississippi valley.

Friday, the severe weather threat migrates to Alabama.  The greatest threat of severe weather will be in the southern half of the state, and particularly closer to the coast.

Expect locally heavy rainfall in spots.

Following the storm system, get ready for another temperature crash this weekend.

Here’s the 10 Day Model Temperature Blend.   Lots of ups and downs.

BEACH FORECAST:   Les than in ideal forecast, I’m afraid.  Springbreakers will NOT be happy.
