WEDNESDAY Update:  Quiet Pattern through Friday – Storm System Friday Night

Good Morning! We are going to enjoy 2-3 days of quiet, nice weather before the next storm system on Friday night.  Cooler today, and chilly tonight.  Thursday looks beautiful – sunny and warmer.  We’ll be in the 70’s Thursday and mid 80’s on Friday.  But, another significant storm system will bring yet another severe weather threat to a big chunk of Alabama by late Friday night, and early Saturday.  Much of the weekend will be nice.    Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

TODAY:   A cooler day.  Mostly sunny.  High 68-70.  (Normal 75/49) Northeast wind 10 to 15 mph.  Mainly clear, chilly tonight.  Low 43.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Sunny and warmer Thursday. Nice day.  Warmer. Partly sunny.  High in the mid 80’s.  Showers and thunderstorms move in overnight Friday night, and first half of the day Saturday.  Sunday will be sunny and beautiful.

Friday could be a big severe weather day in the middle of the country as the next storm system approaches.  In fact, SPC has a large Enhanced Risk area from Iowa south to Mississippi and extreme NW Alabama.  Much of the northwest half of our state is in a severe weather risk through 7AM Saturday.  All modes of severe weather are on the board including the risk of more tornadoes.

On the distant horizon, we may be about a week away from the next potential severe weather threat.  ‘Tis the season.

BEACH FORECAST:   Nice day Friday.  Scattered thunderstorms Saturday.  Only a small chance of leftover showers Sunday.  The Gulf water is still cool….72.

Thanks for reading this Blog this morning! This morning we are LIVE on the radio from 6 to 9 on NewsTalk 93.1.  Watch us on TV on CBS 8 and ABC 32.  I’ll have another update for you in the morning.  Have a nice day!
