THURSDAY Update:  Wet At Times Next Few Days

Good Morning!  It will continue summer-like today.  Warm & humid.  We had a high of 90 yesterday.  We’re headed for the upper 80’s today.  An approaching front will enter the state, slow-down, and then stall. Widely scattered showers and perhaps some thunderstorms are back in the forecast.  It will be wet at times Friday and Saturday.  The wettest day will be Saturday.  There could even be some leftover showers on Easter Sunday. The weekend will be rather cool with highs in the 60’s.  At the moment, there is no severe weather in our future. Sunshine returns Monday.  Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

CLIMATE DATA:  We came close to the record yesterday with 90°.  (Record: 91 from 1988)  (Normal: 77/50)

TODAY:   Patchy fog this morning.Another very warm day.  High 88.  Limited sunshine. Clouds will dominate.  Spotty widely scattered  showers and storms possible today and tonight.  South wind at 5 to 10 mph.   Low tonight 65.

The front moving into the state today will slow down and then stall.

Future Radar snapshot at 4:00 PM from the WRF model.  Spotty showers.  Perhaps a thunderstorm.

NEXT FEW DAYS:   Wet at times over the next few days, as the front stalls near the Gulf Coast. Waves of  low pressure will move along the front.  The wettest day will be Saturday. Much cooler over the weekend.  Highs only in the 60’s  Widely scattered showers on Easter Sunday.  The sun returns on Monday.

As the front stalls near the coast, waves of low pressure moving along the front will keep us wet at times for the next few days.

Here’s the expected rainfall through Sunday.   Wet across the Southeast U.S.

Easter will be cool, compared to normal.  Upper 60’s.  Small chance of scattered showers.

BEACH FORECAST:   Not a good forecast, unfortunately  Wet at times, especially Friday night through Saturday.  Not only that.  High rip current risk.
