WEDNESDAY  Update:   Wet & Active Forecast Next Few Days

Good Morning!  Radar will be rather active for the next few days as the risk of showers and thunderstorms return to the forecast, starting this afternoon & this evening.  Showers and storms are likely Thursday.  Some of the storms could be strong to severe today and Thursday.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue in the forecast Friday & Saturday.  There could even be some lingering showers on Sunday.  By Monday, we should begin a stretch of dry days. On this blog update, I have broken down the daily rain chances, plus a look at the weekend Beach Outlook. Here’s my brief forecast discussion.

CLIMATE DATA:   Yesterday we had morning low of 49, and a afternoon high of 79.  (Normal 81/55) No rain.

TODAY:   Partial Sunshine.  Risk of scattered thunderstorms by this afternoon and through the evening hours tonight.  High near 80.  East wind at 5 to 10 mph.  Low tonight 62.

With a northward moving warm front today, some storms could be strong to severe.  Marginal Level 1 Severe Risk.  Damaging wind gusts would be the main threat.

NEXT FEW DAYS:  Get ready for some wet weather. Showers and storms are likely Thursday.  Some possibly severe.   Scattered showers and thunderstorms continue in the forecast Friday & Saturday.  There could even be some lingering showers on Sunday.  By Monday, we should begin a stretch of dry days.

On Thursday, SPC has a Marginal Level 1 Severe Risk covering much of north and central Alabama.  Much of South Alabama has a Level 2 Risk.  Although damaging wind gusts are the main threat, tornadoes can’t be ruled out.    

  Wet times across the South over the next few days.  Here’s the expected rainfall. 

BEACH FORECAST:  Wet at times today through Sunday.  Showers and thunderstorms.  Highs in the 70’s   Gulf water temperature 72.
