SATURDAY Update:   Storm System Approaches – Saturday Night Soaker  

Good Morning!  Much of this day will be dry.  But, by late afternoon and tonight showers and storms will be numerous.  Have a Plan B.  Be flexible.  It looks like a Saturday night soaker.  A few stronger storms are possible, especially across the southern third of the state. Marginal Severe Risk.   On Sunday, the risk of showers clears out early.  Most of Sunday will be dry, with improvement by lunchtime. The month of May starts Monday.  It looks like a simply beautiful first week of May.  A spectacular series of days Monday through Friday.

TODAY:  If you have outdoor plans today, much of this day will be dry.  But, by late afternoon and tonight showers and storms will be numerous.  Increasing clouds.  Another warm day.   High 83.  Showers and storms become likely by late afternoon and tonight.  Locally heavy downpours.  East wind 6 to 12 mph, increasing this evening and tonight, gusting as high as 25 mph.  Low tonight 60. 

Marginal Severe Risk from US 80/I-85 southward.  Damaging wind gusts are the main risk.

SUNDAY:  Risk of leftover showers early.  Cloudy through mid-morning.   Then, gradual clearing.  Windy.  West wind 10 to 15 gusting to 30 mph.  High 77.  Clear breezy and colder Sunday night.  Low 49.


NEXT FEW DAYS:  There could even be some lingering showers first half of the day on Sunday.  By Monday, we should begin a long stretch of dry days.   It looks like a simply beautiful first week of May.  A spectacular series of days Monday through Friday.  Near 80 by Tuesday.  Mid 80’s by Thursday and Friday. 

BEACH FORECAST:  Wet today & tonight, and Sunday morning.   The rest of the weekend looks dry.  Windy Sunday. Nice day Monday   Highs in the 70’s   Gulf water temperature 73.  High Rip Current Risk today through the weekend.
